If you choose to build your own in-ground swimming pool we have professional pool installers available in a 300 mile radius of French Lick, Indiana on a per day plus expenses basis.

How Pleasure Pools™ Started

Pleasure Pools™ started as a home construction company in 1956 to provide work for a group of college students as a means of paying their way through college. They built a model home and wanted to put in a swimming pool but the price for a pool was beyond their means. Not willing to give up on the idea resulted in making pre-fabricated panels and using a vinyl liner as a waterproof membrane. The response was over whelming. Three years later they began manufacturing steel panels, liners and other pool components. By 1965 Pleasure swimming pools were being shipped to dealers in 28 states.

In 1992 the owner, Mr. Bishop decided to retire and move to French Lick In. and turn the operation over to his sons Kevin and Timothy. Golfing and fishing was fun for about three months but swimming pool construction and training dealers was something he missed, so it was decided he could work with dealers and construction crews in southern Indiana and Kentucky and still have time to fish and golf. Consequently the crews that were used to train pleasure pool dealers in how to build a quality swimming pool were now available to build direct for homeowners. In 2004 12 crews are still building pools out of the French Lick office. Some of these crews are also available if you purchase a do-it-yourself pool kit and would like to have on-site supervision for stages of
